(|Xantoras|)

(|Xenex|)
Xenex is the home world of the Xenexians. The Danteri ruled Xenex for over 300 years. The Plains of Seanwin are located on the planet Xenex. (New Frontier: House of Cards by Peter David)

The Pit is a region of Xenex approximate 30 miles across. It was extremely inhospitable, filled with small life forms that had developed various nasty abilities required for surviving in the desert environment. Moreover, the weather was severely unpredictable, thanks to a combination of assorted fronts that would slip in and become trapped within the mountains that ringed portions of the terrain. Fierce dust storms would whip up at any time, or torrents of rain would fall -- sometimes for days -- to be followed by such calm and dryness that one would think that there had been no precipitation there for ages. In some areas the terrain was cracked and dry, while in others the ground was exceedingly malleable. Those who were advocates of pseudoscience would claim that the Pit was a source for a rift in reality. That it was a sort of nexus, an intersection for multiple realities that would drift in and out as easily as dust motes caught up in vagrant breezes. Those who were not of a pseudoscientific bent just figured the place was haunted. Although modern Xenexians gave the Pit a wide berth, centuries previously it had been part of a fundamental rite of passage among Xenexian youth. When a Xenexian reached a certain age, he or she would trudge into the midst of the Pit to embark on what was called the "Search for Allways." (New Frontier: House of Cards by Peter David)

(|Zantos|)
Alien world where a Starfleet survey party got caught by the natives years ago. They took the leader of the survey party and cut off his genitals. Starfleet has steered clear of the world since then.

Zantos makes the best ale in the quadrant. It's better than Romulan ale, and tougher to get. On a bet with an Admiral, Mackenzie Calhoun snuck onto Zantos, acquired a case of ale, and hot footed it off the planet with half the Zantos fleet on his ass.
