Garanian bolites are small creatures that, when applied to a person's body, cause brief but extreme itching and skin discoloration. The entire skin turns bright colors then fades several times before the symptoms end. (|Great Bird of the Galaxy, The|)
The Great Bird of the Galaxy is a giant bird that was once considered a myth. It is considered good luck, although some races consider it a bad omen. "May the Great Bird of the Galaxy roost on your planet," is a common phrase to wish someone good luck. According to legend, there can only be one Great Bird at a time. And when it senses its end is near, the Great Bird imparts its essence into a world, gestates over centuries, and is then reborn. The planet experiences great prosperity during the roosting, but when the bird hatches, the planet is destroyed. The Great Bird can teleport over immense distances.
