(|Dampening field|)
An energy field that inhibits almost all forms of energy, including most forms of communications.

Contributed by: Webteam

(|DCA pulse order|)
Tom Paris set the DCA pulse order to neutral as his and Neelix's shuttlecraft began to crash on Planet Hell. (VOY: Parturition)

Contributed by: Clare Bradley

(|Deflector array|)
You can reroute the main EPS conduit to make the deflector array produce a positron burst. (ENT: Bound)

(|Deflector dish|)
A powerful forward-looking directional force-beam generator used to push aside debris, meteroids, microscopic particulates, and other objects that might collide with a starship.

Contributed by: Webteam

(|Deflector screens|)
Deflector screens are a defense system on board Constitution-Class vessels. Deflector screens had to be lowered to use the transporter. (TOS: The Doomsday Machine)

(|Dermal regenerator|)
Medical device used to seal small wounds or burns and restore the original skin structure.

(|Deuterium|)
A hydrogen isotope, consisting a nucleus with one proton and one neutron, and an electron circling around the nucleus. Cryogenic deuterium is used as the primary fuel source for the fusion impulse engine reactors, and it is also used in Federation starships' warp drive matter/antimatter reaction. As matter deuterium is used, and anti-hydrogen (an anti-proton and a positron) is used as antimatter.

(|Deutronium ore|)
The planet Lazon II is rich in deutronium ore. The processed ore was fuel for Cardassian weapons systems and vessels, however the technology that used the fuel has become obsolete. (ST: TNG: Triangle: Imzadi II by Peter David)

(|Diboridium core|)
Cardassian devices use Diboridium cores as a power source. (DS9: Babel)

(|Dilithium|)
Lt. Charlene Masters monitors the dilithium crystals in engineering aboard the U.S.S. Enterprise.Dilithium is the only known element to be non-reactive to antimatter when subjected to a high frequency electromagnetic field in the megawatt range. The efficiency of the reaction inside the crystal depends on its quality.
While naturally occuring crystals had to be used in the 23rd century, monocrystalline dilithium can now be produced by means of epitaxy.

Dilithium crystals are the very heart of the power of the U.S.S. Enterprise. (TOS: The Alternative Factor)

The dilithium crystals allow you to control the reaction of the matter and antimatter in the dilithium chamber. (ENT: Bound)

(|dilithium articulation frame|)
When attempting to restore warp drive to the U.S.S. Defiant, Kira realigned the dilithium articulation frame. You start this by decoupling the lateral microbrace. (DS9: One Little Ship)

Contributed by: Rob Versteegt

(|Dilithium chamber|)
The antimatter injectors feed into the dilithium chamber. The dilithium chamber is where the matter and antimatter mix. The dilithium crystals allow you to control the reaction. (ENT: Bound)

(|Dilithium crystal converter assembly|)
When Kryton sabotaged the U.S.S. Enterprise, the dilithium crystal converter assembly became fused. (TOS: Elaan of Troyius)

Contributed by: Clare Bradley

(|Dilithium matrix|)
Warp output must be within 300-312 millicochranes to prevent fusion of the dilithium matrix unless the spatial compression index is greater than 5.62% or the ship is within two parsecs of a Class-C gravimetric field distortion. (ENT: Doctor's Orders)

Contributed by: Clare Bradley

(|Disilicon polymers|)
Disilicon polymers are used in the hulls of Axanar ships. (ENT: Fight or Flight)

Contributed by: Clare Bradley

(|disintegration machine|)
An Eminiar casualty enters a disintegration machine.Device used by the Eminiar to painlessly kill those who were declared casualties in their computer-generated war with the planet Vendikar. (TOS: A Taste of Armageddon)

Contributed by: Clare Bradley

(|Dispersive armor|)
In the mid 22nd century, the bridges of Klingon bird of preys were protected by dispersive armor. Weapons can't penetrate it. (ENT: The Augments)

Contributed by: Clare Bradley

(|Docking clamps|)
Docking clamps are used when two ships dock to each other. (ENT: Chosen Realm)

Contributed by: Clare Bradley

(|Docking ports|)
Docking ports allow vessels to connect directly to a space station. (DS9: Babel)

Contributed by: Clare Bradley

(|Docking ring|)
The docking ring is the outer ring of Deep Space Nine. Airlocks connect the docking ring to docking ports. (DS9: Babel)

Contributed by: Clare Bradley

(|Dolamide|)
Dolamide is used for power generators, reactors, and short-range transports. It can also be used for weapons, but only if it's extremely pure. (DS9: Dramatis Personae)

Contributed by: Clare Bradley

(|Doppler compensator|)
The Doppler compensator is part of the transporter system, to compensate the relative movement between the origin and destination of the transport. Without the compensator the Doppler effect would distort the transport pattern.

(|Driver coils|)
Part of warp drive engines. These need to be configured for warp speed. (ENT: Affliction)

Contributed by: Clare Bradley

(|Duotronics|)
Computer technology used aboard Federation starships from the mid-23rd to the beginning of the 24th century, invented by Dr. Richard Daystrom in 2243.
Duotronics were replaced with isolinear technology from 2329.

Contributed by: Webteam

(|Duranium alloy|)
Duranium alloy was used on Andorian combat vessels in the mid-22nd century. (ENT: Babel One)

Contributed by: Clare Bradley

(|Duranium composite|)
Conduits on Deep Space Nine are made from Duramium composite.Conduits on Deep Space Nine were made from two-meter thick duranium composite. Most scanning devices can’t penetrate it. (DS9: Captive Pursuit) The hatches on runabouts are made of duranium composite. (DS9: Q-Less)
