Sigma 1014 Orionis went nova near the time of Surak's birth. The nova destroyed the hearth world of the Inshai Compact Planets. It is suspected that a sunkiller bomb caused the nova, but no one has ever proved it. Eye of Fire, or da'Nikhirch is the Vulcan name for this star.
