Join Form Help

This page is designed to give you an idea of how to fill out the join form. If you have problems with the Join-form itself, contact the Webmaster.

To view an example of what a Bio should look like, click here.

How to Fill out the Join Form:

Player Name: Put your own Name here.

Player Age: Your Age

Player Gender: Your Gender

Player Email: Your email address. This is the most important field. If you miss it, or enter it wrong, we can't contact you.

Add Email to Biography? This feature allows an email link to be created on your character's bio page. If you no not wish other to be able to view your email address, select no.

Player ICQ and/or AIM: ICQ and AIM are instant messaging programs. If you don't use either of these programs, ignore this field. If you do use one or both of them, you can give us your number, but it is not required.

Add ICQ to Biography? This feature allows a link to your ICQ details to be created on your character's bio page. If you no not wish other to be able to view your ICQ details, select no.

Player Country: The country where you live. It gives us an idea about the time difference and any possible language barriers. Plus it's just interesting. :> Again, not required.

Do you Already have RPG/PBeM Experience?: Previous RPG/PBeM experience is not necessary to join, although you must be able to write clearly and effectively. This information lets us know what type of RPGing you are used to.

How did you find us?: This lets us know which of our promotional activities was the most successful, so we can better our advertisement and get more new members. If you used a seach engine, please let us know which one.

Character Name: Your character's name.

Character Age: Your character's age. Starfleet is a military organization, and therefore does not accept any students under the age of 18. If your character is an officer, they must complete four years of academy training, and be at least 22. If you plan to play an Enlisted character, they must complete one year of basic training, and be at least 19. Your character can be older and have experience in Starfleet, but he/she will still start out as an Ensign. Civilians and NPC's have no minimum age.

Character Race: Your character's race. In most cases, this should be a race whose home planet is a member of the Federation. (See our races database, here.) You can play a 'foreign' race, but your backstory must have a plausible explanation of how they ended up in starfleet (for example, Worf was an orphan who was adopted by humans.). Civilians do not have this restriction. Players are not allowed to be Q (or Q-like), although your GM may use them in a plot.

Character Gender: Your character's gender. You can be male, female, both (Hermat), or Neither (J'naii).

Character Height: Your character's height.

Character Weight: Your character's weight.

Character Eye Color: Your character's eye color.

Character Hair Color: Your character's hair color. If your character has no hair, simply write 'bald'.

Character Skin Color: Your Character's skin color.

First Choice Position: & Second Choice Position: This lets us know in advance where you'd like to be stationed on your vessel. You can change your mind while you are in the academy, as long as you inform your instructor. For more information on Positions, read the Position Descriptions.

What do you prefer?: Some people have a distinct preference for playing on a ship or a station. Let us know what your preference is (or if you don't have one), so we can try to assign you to the place you'd most enjoy. If you change your mind, you can transfer to another vessel later.

Character Appearance: Give us a brief description about what your character looks like. You can be specific (Height & Weight, Hair & Eye Color), and/or describe the impression they make on people.

Character History: Tell us about your character and the major events of his/her life. Describe his/her family and personal life, as well as his/her career.

Psychological Profile: All Starfleet officers are required to undergo Psychological Examination to determine if they are fit for duty. If your characer has any 'issues', this would be the place to mention it. But mostly, this field is to describe your character's personality. Are they outgoing or shy? Laid back, or extremely disciplined? The more detail you can give, the easier it will be for your fellow players to interact with you. Since personality is subjective, and never static, your character can change over time.

Specialties and Skills: Tell us about what your character is good at. It can be job related, or not. If you are planning on making your character exceptionally skilled in one area, you should balance it with a flaw or disadvantage in another area, in order to keep him/her realistic.

Hobbies and Interests: What does your character like to do in his/her free time? What fascinates them?

Notes: This field can be used to tell us something about your character that doesn't fit into one of the above fields.

NRPG Notes: This field is for out of game information that you would like us to know. It will not appear in your biography.

SAMPLE POST: To be accepted into Frontier Fleet, you must send us a sample post. It can be from a previous rpg you've belonged to, or you can use one of the following scenarios. For information on how to post, please read the posting guide.

Scenario 1: Your Captain has granted your request for shore leave, and you are on your way to Risa for sun, surf and jamaharon, when you receive a distress signal from a Ferengi transport.

Scenario 2: It is your first year at the academy, and your roommate is from an uncommon race. You've been trying to get along with him/her, but it hasn't been easy. You come home from class to find the worst thing she/he's done so far.

Scenario 3: You are a diplomat sent to a neutral colony to negotiate a trade agreement between the major alpha quadrant powers. An argument begins between the Klingon and Ferengi delegates. You must resolve the conflict before it escalates.

Scenario 4: You are a counselor, and your captain is exhibiting erratic behavior. He/She refuses to submit to a medical examination. How do you handle the situation?
