Xindi
Playable: With approval
Humanoid, Sloth, Reptilian, and Insectoid members of the Xindi Council.
Humanoid, Sloth, Reptilian, and Insectoid members of the Xindi Council.
An aquatic Xindi council member.
An aquatic Xindi council member.
(| Xindi Arboreals |)
According to Gralik Durr, Xindi Arboreals are lethargic and patient. (ENT: The Shipment) The Arboreals don't like the water. (ENT: Countdown)
(| Xindi Aquatics |)
When the Aquatics use past tense they switch to sonar. The Aquatics had an innate distrust of the spoken word. They react more strongly to visual stimuli. Aquatics respect boldness and confidence. They view hushed tones with suspicion. There is a Xindi saying: "It's easier to count the stars in the sky than it is for an Aquatic to reach a decision." The Ibix Dynasty is a very wealthy, powerful family among the Xindi Aquatics. (ENT: The Council)

Aquatic language is difficult to master. The Aquatics are extremely deliberate in everything they do. The prudence of the Aquatics was usually the only thing keeping the Xindi Council from dissolving into chaos. It was also the reason Degra chose them to build the weapon. (ENT: Countdown)
(| Xindi Avians |)
There was a sixth Xindi species, the Avians. None of the Avians fled Xindus before it was destroyed, so they are now extinct. In some places, the Xindus sky was once filled with Avians. (ENT: The Shipment)
(| Xindi Insectoids |)
The Insectoids are an aggressive species. (ENT: Stratagem)

The Insectoids interpret raised voices as a sign of hostility. There are 67 Insectoid dialects. Insectoids names get longer the older they get, so they are difficult to pronounce. Unlike the Aquatics, they are quick to take sides. (ENT: The Council)

Insectoid iconography is different from the other Xindi languages. Insectoids care greatly for their hatchlings. They have been known to sacrifice themselves for their eggs. Insectoids have no gender they reproduce asexually. Each adult is capable of producing multiple egg sacks. The Insectoid life span is approximately 12 years. Insectoid hatcheries have bulkheads that are heavily reinforced and have back up power systems. Insectoids lay eggs that hang in groups from the ceiling of the hatchery. The eggs have an autonomic defense system. They squirt a mild neurotoxin that contains a unique neurochemical. After the Enterprise NX-01 discovered a hatchery on a crashed Xindi ship, Captain Archer was sprayed by this neurochemical. It infiltrated Captain Archer's synaptic patterns causing him to reverse imprint on the baby insectoids causing him to be obsessed with protecting the eggs. Insectoid ships have minimal shielding on their impulse manifolds. This is a weak spot in their defenses. Every system on an Insectoid ship is integrated. In order to bring bio-support online, you have to power up the whole thing. (ENT: Hatchery)
(| Xindi Primates |)
According to Gralik Durr, Xindi Primates tend to be fair and truthful. (ENT: The Shipment) Xindi primates have red blood. The neural pathways of Xindi Primates and Reptilians are nearly identical. (ENT: Stratagem)
(| Xindi Reptilians |)
According to Gralik Durr, Xindi Reptilians are untrustworthy. (ENT: The Shipment)

Stun has no effect on Xindi Reptilians. (ENT: Carpenter Street)

The neural pathways of Xindi Primates and Reptilians are nearly identical. (ENT: Stratagem)

Reptilians prefer to be near the ground. (ENT: The Council)

Reptilians eat live rodents. (ENT: Zero Hour)
(| History |)
The Xindi are made up of six different species (Arboreals, Aquatics, Avians, Insectoids, Primates and Reptilians) that all evolved on the same planet, Xindus. The Civil War between the species lasted nearly 100 years. Xindus was unstable geologically. The Insectoids and Reptillians detonated massive explosions beneath the 8 largest seismic fissures, destroying the planet Xindus, and causing the extinction of the Avians. The remaining Xindi live scattered throughout the expanse. Most Xindi did not know about the attack on Earth. (ENT: The Shipment)

History has no record of a conflict between humans and the Xindi. The conflict between Humans and the Xindi is the result of temporal incursions. (ENT: Carpenter Street)

The Xindi Council was formed when the Xindi home world was destroyed. It was created to find a new home world for all Xindi. After years of searching, they found a few suitable locations, but they couldn't agree on a final choice. The plan for reunification was put aside when they learned of the threat from Earth. (ENT: Stratagem)

The Sphere Builders worked with the Xindi for decades. They saved the Xindi from extinction. When the Xindi home world was destroyed, they began appearing to the survivors, guiding them to habitable planets and valuable resources. They were practically worshipped. The Xindi call them the Guardians. Xindi are brought up to revere them. Children give thanks to them at the end of each day. Jonathan Archer convinced Degra that the Guardians were manipulating them. Degra used his influence to get Archer to speak before the Xindi Council. After Archer presented his evidence, the Reptilians agreed to postpone the launch, giving them the three votes they needed. However, the Reptilian decision was as a ruse. The Reptilians and Insectoids seized control of the weapon and defied the council. In a remarkably fast decision, the Aquatics agreed to intercept the weapon if Archer disabled the spheres, which he claimed he could do. (ENT: The Council)
(| Society |)
The Xindi council meets in a chamber located 2 miles up from the planet surface of an unknown planet, in a chamber that was built by the Avians before they became extinct. Xindi archaeologists say it is over 4,000 years old. The only way in is through the air, and cloud layers are present throughout the year making the chambers perfectly concealed. (ENT: The Council)
(| Technology |)
The Xindi use a phased deflection pulse to open the subspace vortices they use for faster than light travel. (ENT: Stratagem)

Xindi Aquatic escape pods can navigate in space and under water. (ENT: Damage)

Reptilian and Insectoids ships have more powerful weapons than those of the Arboreals and Primates. The Aquatics have the most powerful weapons, however their speed is limited. Primate ships are faster. (ENT: Countdown)
