(ENT: Detained) Tandar Prime is located in the Alpha Quadrant. (Star Trek Star Charts by Geoffrey Mandel) The Cabal began attacks on Tandarans in 2143. Tandarans are a decent people for the most part, but a fear of the Suliban Cabal led them to create internment camps for Suliban living in their territory. The Tandarans rationalized this by claiming it was to protect the Suliban from hostile Tandaran citizens, after innocent Suliban had been killed. The Tandarans also believed they were helping to protect innocent Suliban from being sucked into the Cabal. There were thousands of Suliban in Tandaran camps, and families were often separated. Several inspections are conducted at intervals throughout the day at the internment camps. (ENT: Detained) A shuttlepod from Enterprise NX-01 strayed into the military zone around the orbit of the second moon in 2151. After seeing the conditions in the internment camps, the Enterprise NX-01 freed 89 Suliban from Detention complex 26, which was commanded by Colonel Grat. (ENT: Detained)  Society  The Tandarans have strict regulations. Trespassers in their space must appear before a magistrate on Tandar Prime. They are given legal representation, and are free to choose their own counsel. (ENT: Detained)  Technology  Tandaran guards use weapons that deliver an electric shock on contact with a body. (ENT: Detained)  Notes  Tandaran nursery rhyme: "Be careful of their wicked smiles, their shining yellow eyes. At night they'll squeeze right through your door, And everybody dies."
